Details of the second edition of the ‘Għad-Dell tal-Akwadott’ activity to be held in Kerċem announced

The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo announced the details of the second edition of the ‘Għad-Dell tal-Akwadott’ activity, which will be held on Saturday 16 August 2025, from 7pm onwards, in Triq San Niklaw in Kerċem.

The minister said that, “This is not just an entertainment activity but will serve as a platform to bring together the local community and raise more awareness about the agricultural sector, food production and our traditional heritage.”

The event is being jointly organised by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights and the Kerċem Local Council and entry to the event is free. The event will also include games for children, traditional food and drinks, Maltese songs and folklore, as well as exhibitions of antique machines and traditional crafts, all of which recall the agrarian and cultural history of the locality and our country.

For his part, the Mayor of Kerċem Mario Azzopardi noted with satisfaction that the locality of Kerċem will be hosting another edition of this activity. “This event is growing from year to year and is attracting families from all over Gozo and Malta. We thank the Ministry for its continuous support and all the workers who are contributing to making ‘Għad-Dell tal-Akwadott’ a successful activity.”

Minister Anton Refalo stressed that, “These types of initiatives are crucial for us to continue strengthening the connection between the community and the agricultural sector and keeping our identity alive as a people.” He concluded by inviting the entire public to attend this activity, and thanked the Kerċem Local Council, the Directorate of Agriculture, as well as all the volunteers and organizations involved.
