ON Thursday evening, the Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC Malta) was requested to assist in the evacuation of an elderly passenger aboard a passenger ship.
The passenger was reported to be in need of urgent medical care after experiencing serious health complications.
An Armed Forces of Malta rescue vessel was sent to meet with the ship and successfully took the patient to shore where he was then taken to Mater Dei Hospital for continued treatment.
