PBS to host EBU's 98th General Assembly in 2027

Public Broadcasting Services (PBS Malta) has been selected to host the European Broadcasting Union’s (EBU) 98th General Assembly, which will take place in Malta in June 2027.

The announcement was made during the EBU’s 96th General Assembly, currently being held in Prague, Czech Republic.

The General Assembly is the EBU’s highest governing body and brings together senior executives from 115 public service radio and television organisations across 57 countries to discuss the priorities, challenges and opportunities facing public service media.

PBS Chief Executive Officer Keith Chetcuti said:

“Together, we will focus on our core public service media remits and continue addressing the key challenges and opportunities facing our Union.”

He added:

“PBS is a small but proud Member and is dedicated to playing an active role within the EBU. We look forward to collaborating with Members to make this Assembly a truly memorable and productive event.”

Hosting the EBU General Assembly is a significant recognition of PBS Malta’s contribution and commitment to the European public service broadcasting community and will place Malta at the centre of discussions shaping the future of public service media.
