The General Workers’ Union (GWU) congratulates the Labour Party on its election victory and wishes it every success in its work in the coming years.
The GWU believes that the electoral result is a clear democratic expression of the will of the people and looks forward to continuing to work in favour of the country, Maltese and Gozitan workers and families from Monday.
The Union reiterated that it will remain an active partner in social dialogue, with a continuous commitment to decent work, better wages, fair working conditions and a social policy that continues to strengthen the quality of life of the people.
The GWU stressed that its priority will always remain the protection of the interests of workers and their families, while continuing to contribute to the economic and social development of the country.
At the same time, the GWU expresses its willingness to continue working with the Government and all social partners so that Malta continues to move forward in a sustainable, inclusive and beneficial manner for all.
