Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer says he “won’t quit” as three of his ministers resign amid growing calls for him to stand down in the wake of last week’s disastrous results in local elections.

The number of rebel MP’s who have publicly called for Starmer to stand down has reached at least 81, the number required to trigger a leadership election. Some reports suggest there are many more who have not revealed their names who also support a change at the top.
