
Minister for Home Affairs, Security and Employment Byron Camilleri met in Malta with the Deputy Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Abu al-Qasim Haftar.
In this meeting, on Sunday, the relationship between the two sides was discussed. A relationship that is one of the best with continuous collaboration on various areas especially those related to security. In fact, among the themes discussed in this meeting were security, the exchange of information, the fight against organised crime and irregular immigration.
Minister Byron Camilleri spoke about the importance of these themes for the central Mediterranean and southern Europe and how this cooperation can benefit not only the people of Malta and Libya but also the region as a whole.
Minister Byron Camilleri was accompanied by, among others, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Malta, Clinton J O’Neill, the Head of Security Services, Joe Bugeja and Ambassador Malcolm Cutajar.
