A survey published by The Sunday Times of Malta shows growing public trust in the Labour Party and Prime Minister Robert Abela, alongside a slight decline in support for the Nationalist Party and its leader Alex Borg.

According to the findings, support for Labour has increased since the previous survey conducted in October. In contrast, the Nationalist Party registered a marginal drop, mirrored by a decrease in trust in Borg.

When respondents were asked how they would vote if a general election were held tomorrow, just over 51% said they would choose Labour, compared to 45% who backed the Nationalist Party. The results indicate a gap of 6.3 percentage points between the two parties, equivalent to approximately 19,600 votes.

The survey also highlights a widening gap in leadership trust. Nearly six in ten respondents expressed confidence in Abela, while just over four in ten said they trusted Borg.
