A 17-year-old girl from Mġarr was taken to Mater Dei Hospital on Sunday evening after becoming trapped beneath a collapsed roof in a room near Ġnejna Bay, ONE News reports.
The incident occurred at around 6pm in one of the rooms adjacent to the popular beach. Emergency responders, including police officers and members of the Civil Protection Department, were dispatched to the scene.
A medical team from Mater Dei Hospital administered first aid, while rescuers from the Maritime Section of the Civil Protection Department transported the injured teenager to the beach due to the area’s limited accessibility.
She was later taken to hospital for further treatment. Her condition has not yet been confirmed.
The cause of the roof collapse remains under investigation.
