Busy days abroad for Maltese match officials

The Malta FA is pleased to announce three more international appointments for local match officials, all happening in the coming days over this November international window.

FIFA badge Referee Ishmael Barbara has been tasked to join the team of match officials for the UEFA U19 Championship – Qualifying Round, Group 3  to be contested in the Swedish cities of Linkoping and Norrkoping.

For this U19 Qualifying tournament, Ishmael will be assisted by Duncan Spencer in his role of Assistant Referee.

Meanwhile, an identical task also beckons for FIFA badge Referee Philip Farrugia who has flown to Croatia for the UEFA U19 Championship – Qualifying Round, Group 11.

A competition lined up between Wednesday this week and the 22nd of November in multiple Croatian cities including Karlovac, Sesvete, and the capital city Zagreb.

Assistant Referee James Muscat has joined Philip in the Balkan country for this prestigious appointment.

On a different note, a high-profile international match is awaiting another local FIFA badge referee Trustin Farrugia Cann who on Wednesday will be assigned to officiate the international A Friendly between Cyprus and Bulgaria.

The match scheduled to be played at the AEK Arena in Cyprus will showcase Trustin joined by Luke Portelli and Edward Spiteri, all three representing the Malta FA in this prominent international task ahead.
