Erasmus+ backs new aid for sportmen

Parliamentary Secretary for European Funds Chris Bonnet has announced a new fund that will benefit sportspeople across the islands.

He said that, “thanks to Erasmus+ we launched schemes for sportsmen”.
Every year around 30 coaches from different clubs will be sent to train abroad. By 2027, with an investment of around €135,000, around 150 coaches will have been sent.

With an investment of around €50 million per year, the European Commission will give the opportunity for Maltese and Gozitan sports organizations to join partnership projects with other countries.

Young sportsmen aged between 13 and 30 are also being given the opportunity to participate in youth exchanges, with an investment of €700,000 each year.
