A major explosion has been reported at the firework manufacturing facilities of the Peace Club in Naxxar at around 6:30am on Monday morning.
Multiple explosions were reportedly heard, with the final blast being the strongest.
Emergency responders, including the Armed Forces of Malta Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, the Civil Protection Department, and medical teams from Mater Dei Hospital, were deployed to the site.
Authorities were initially working to determine whether anyone was inside the fireworks complex or nearby when the explosions occurred.
The blast was reportedly powerful enough to shatter windows in Naxxar and surrounding localities.
Salina Road was closed to traffic following the incident.
