Malta’s tourism sector continued its strong performance in March, with figures from the National Statistics Office showing an 11.3% increase in inbound tourists compared to the same month last year.
A total of 321,652 tourists visited Malta during the month, while overall arrivals, including cruise passengers, reached 325,666. Tourist expenditure rose to €234.1 million, up 6.9% year-on-year.
Holiday travel remained the main driver, while business travel سجل significant growth. Non-EU markets showed the strongest increase, particularly from the United Kingdom, with continued growth also recorded from Poland and Italy.
Gozo and Comino also saw higher visitor numbers, though most were day-trippers.
Overall, the first quarter of 2026 shows sustained momentum for Malta’s tourism industry, with increases in arrivals, nights stayed and total expenditure.
