On Monday morning, at around 10:00 a.m., while two Patrol & Community Support officers were on foot patrol in Triq il-Boxxla, St. Paul’s Bay, they noticed a 22-year-old man who was wanted by the police in connection with involvement in the theft of a mobile phone from a shop in the same locality.
The officers requested assistance from their colleagues, and the police went the area and stopped the man. During a search carried out on him, eight packets containing a substance suspected to be heroin were found, while a search at his residence uncovered a substance suspected to be cannabis.
The man was arrested on the spot and is expected to be charged before the courts in the coming days.
