Police investigations have led to the arrest of a 31-year-old man in connection with alleged drug trafficking in St Julianβs.
The man was arrested after attempting to flee when he noticed the presence of police officers in the area of the Santa Rita steps. When officers searched him they found 31 green tablets, 5 pink tablets, sachets containing substances suspected to be cannabis, cocaine and amphetamine, as well as cash and two mobile phones. A subsequent search at his residence led to the discovery of more sachets containing the same substances.
He is expected to be arraigned in Court in the coming days.
