The Prime Minister during the launch of the Sandra Calleja Foundation with more wealth in the community

Prime Minister Robert Abela visited The Convenience Shop (Holding) plc in Qormi on an occasion in which the Sandra Calleja Foundation was launched by the same company.

This foundation will be helping society in a tangible way and supporting initiatives related to education, healthcare, environmental sustainability and community development. This foundation, which commemorates the memory of the wife of the company’s founder, will be led by President Emeritus Marie Louise Coleiro Preca and supported by a Board of Administrators.

Prime Minister Robert Abela praised The Convenience Shop ‘s initiative to establish this foundation through which more good will be done in the community. He went on to say that this testifies to the values ​​of empathy and solidarity that the company embraces.

“As a Government we are always there to support these initiatives. Corporate Social Responsibility is a characteristic of the Maltese entrepreneur who continues to share wealth with others”, reiterated Dr Abela.

During the visit, the Prime Minister met with the directors, executive team and employees of the company. The company’s management explained the work being carried out and the investment being made to strengthen digital accessibility, increase operational efficiency and continue to improve the consumer experience. It went on to explain that there are currently over 100 stores in more than 50 localities across Malta and Gozo.
