Malta Police are warning the public about a scam message currently being circulated via Facebook Messenger, falsely appearing as a communication from “Meta Ver(r)ified”.
These messages claim that unusual activity has been detected on your account and request that you verify your identity through a link.
This message is a scam and you are strongly advised to:
NOT click on any links contained in such messages
NOT provide personal details, passwords, or account information.
Be cautious of messages containing typos or grammatical errors which are common indicators of scams
If you receive such a message, it is recommended to delete and report the message to Meta.
