 Prime Minister Robert Abela met with Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden in Luxembourg where relations between the two countries were discussed, as well as various areas of common interest, including trade, investment, education and culture.

Prime Minister Abela stressed the importance of Malta continuing to strengthen its relations with Luxembourg while creating more opportunities for business and investment between the two countries. He also pointed out the potential for further collaboration in areas such as financial services, technology and sustainability.

The two leaders also discussed international and European issues, and agreed on the need to continue strengthening cooperation between the member states of the European Union. Regarding the situation in the Middle East, both sides stressed the need for immediate de-escalation and full respect for international law. They also stressed the importance of a sustainable solution, based on dialogue.

Prime Minister Robert Abela spoke of Malta’s commitment to strong relations with partner countries, while maintaining that continuous dialogue is crucial to addressing common challenges. Following this meeting, Prime Minister Robert Abela was due to watch the Maltese national football team’s match against Luxembourg.
