He explained that these works involve the maintenance and regeneration of the facades of three social housing blocks as well as improvements to their entrances.
He said that the Government will continue to prioritise investment in the social housing sector. “Such regeneration projects not only breathe new life into existing buildings but also ensure that they remain fit for the purpose of providing dignified housing.”
Parliamentary Secretary Andy Ellul continued to say that such works are being carried out across Malta and Gozo and hundreds of families will benefit from them. He stated that these works are being carried out in a wise and efficient manner and with the least inconvenience to the people.
“The Government is committed to continuing to invest in beautification works, but it is also committed to continuing to work on various projects and schemes so that we have more social housing places,” said Dr Ellul.
The Parliamentary Secretary recalled that in recent weeks the Government has continued with the process of strengthening various schemes, including that linked to a grant of €50,000 to rehabilitate empty places so that they can then be placed on the social accommodation list.
