Hibernians opening game in the bottom group of the Yo Health Malta Premier did not yield the result they were looking for.
A win would have ensured that they would be safe at the top part of the group but they had to work hard for a single point.
Hibs had to wait till the 70th minute to open the scoring when Villela converted a penalty. The lead was short-lived as Naxxar hit back immediately through Firmino.
1-1 at the whistle, leaving Hibs sharing top spot with Gzira who beat Mosta 1-0 on Monday.
