A 40-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the importation of cocaine which was concealed in his stomach.
Following his arrival from he was stopped on suspicion of being in possession of drugs and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, with further tests revealing that he was carrying 20 capsules hidden in his body, containing around 300 grams of cocaine — with a street value of just over €30,000.
