At the Auberge de Castille, Prime Minister Robert Abela held a meeting with the European Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection, Michael McGrath.
Dr Abela spoke about the new Government’s commitment to continue strengthening the rule of law even after a number of reforms carried out by this administration in favour of governance and strengthening the rule of law.
Prime Minister Robert Abela has named a key priority of the Government in these first hundred days for our country to have a National Commission for Human Rights and Equality. The Prime Minister said that this will be another step forward in favour of equality.
Also present at the meeting were the Minister for Justice, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Justice, Research and Innovation, Johan Galea, the Head of the Secretariat of the Office of the Prime Minister, Colonel Mark Mallia and the Prime Minister’s Advisor on European Affairs, Leandro Borg.
