Shortly after Sir Keir Starmer announced he is to step down as prime minister, former Health Minister Wes Streeting has just tweeted on social media that he is backing Andy Burnham’s bid for No 10.
Burnham will take his seat in Parliament today following his by-election victory at Makerfield.
