Police arrest 19 people who were in Malta without papers

Early on Thursday morning, authorities arrested 19 people during inspections in Ħamrun, Qormi and St Paul’s Bay.

Those detained , who are from Gambia, Albania, Ghana, Bangladesh, Syria, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Mali, were found to be in Malta without permits.

They were taken to a Detention Centre pending the completion of their return process.
