A crew member aboard a fishing vessel was airlifted to hospital on Thursday after suffering a serious hand injury at sea.
The Rescue Coordination Centre received a request for an urgent medical evacuation, prompting the deployment of an Armed Forces of Malta AW139 helicopter. The operation was carried out successfully, with the injured man transported ashore for treatment.
Upon landing, he was transferred to medical staff at Mater Dei Hospital for further care.
