CASUAL ELECTIONS TO ELECT A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
IN THE 2nd, 7th, 9th, 11th, 8th, 9th, 12th and 3rd ELECTORAL DIVISIONS
H.E. the President of the Republic has commissioned the Electoral Commission to hold casual elections in the Second, Seventh, Ninth, Eleventh, Eighth, Ninth, Twelfth and Third Electoral Divisions ceded respectively by Dr Robert Abela, Dr Ian Borg, Dr Michael Falzon, Dr Miriam Dalli, Mr Clyde Caruana, Dr Clifton Grima, Dr Jonathan Attard and Mr Chris Fearne. The Writ is being published in today’s Government Gazette. The Electoral Commission therefore notifies that it shall be receiving candidates’ nominations for casual elections to elect a Member of the House of Representatives for these electoral divisions.
Eligible candidates who contested the mentioned electoral divisions in the 30th May, 2026 General Election and who were not elected may present their nomination form daily from Saturday 6th till Wednesday the 10th June, 2026, at the Electoral Commission’s Office at Ex-Trade Fair Grounds, In-Naxxar, between 9.00 am and 12.00 pm. Nomination forms may be obtained from the Office of the Electoral Commission in Valletta. Online applications may be submitted through the website www.electoral.gov.mt as from 9.00 am of Saturday 6th June 2026, till 12.00 pm of Wednesday, 10th June, 2026.
The Electoral Commission further notifies that the counting of votes of this casual election shall take place as from 9.00 am of Friday, 12th June, 2026.
