During a meeting of Labour supporters in Zebbug on Thursday evening, Prime Minister Robert Abela announced a series of new proposals aimed at supporting families, encouraging sustainable development and retaining older workers in employment.
Among the measures is a €5,000 grant for parents with three or more children to purchase a larger vehicle, increasing to €12,000 if the vehicle is electric.
The proposals also include full reimbursement of planning fees for sustainable, energy-efficient buildings as part of efforts to promote greener construction.
Workers aged 61 and over who remain in employment would receive an additional €500 annually for four years, amounting to €2,000 by retirement age.
The measures were announced alongside remarks highlighting Malta’s economic resilience despite challenges including the pandemic, wars, supply chain disruptions, energy crises and global inflation.
