Prime Minister Robert Abela visited the Hard Rock Hotel project in St Julian’s, led by DB Group, which has reached its final phase ahead of its planned opening.

Valued at approximately €320 million, the project is set to further strengthen Malta’s position as a high-quality tourism destination. The hotel is being developed with a strong emphasis on sustainability and is expected to become the flagship Hard Rock property not only in Europe but also across Africa and the Middle East.

The development will feature 397 rooms, the largest wellness facilities in Malta, and what is anticipated to be the country’s largest shopping centre.

Prime Minister Abela described the multimillion-euro investment as further evidence of investor confidence in Malta’s economy and tourism industry. He noted that the project is progressing at a time of international challenges, with many countries facing instability, while Malta continues to offer stability and certainty. He added that this performance is being recognised by international credit rating agencies such as DBRS Morningstar and institutions like the International Monetary Fund.

Meanwhile, DB Group Chairperson Silvio Debono said the project strengthens the company’s ambition and confidence to expand its vision, adding that the project is expected to attract more visitors and residents seeking quality experiences, generating higher economic value with reduced environmental impact and less congestion.
