We invest in the education of our children in every phase and in every way, including a nicer environment where our children receive the best learning with better tools. This was the message delivered by the Prime Minister Robert Abela when he visited the new Primary School in Rabat Gozo where he saw the work going on for a nicer school that will start welcoming 650 children in 26 classes. The Prime Minister claimed that the investment in modern educational infrastructure is important to continue pushing in favor of the creativity of our children who have aspirations to shape the future of our country.
With the management of the School and of the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools, the Prime Minister also spoke about learning in specific subjects that continue to make the educational journey of the students an interesting one. In fact with the ongoing work, the school will have classrooms for teaching science, technology, others specially equipped for teaching informatics and art, while 3,000 square meters of land will be dedicated to children’s sport and recreation. An Archaeological Interpretation Center was also built within the school building to preserve the archaeological remains found in this area.
The Prime Minister claimed that the school is part of a community and the educational life in a school also gives added value to society with its experiences. This is also why we continue to invest in the educational infrastructure that is of service also to a community not only during school hours.
“Investing in such an important area as education is also part of the social support that this Government continues to provide so that every child in our country, regardless of where they come from, will be able to fulfill their wishes and their dreams,” stressed Dr. Abela and he also appreciates the hard work of the educators.
As part of this project, the expansion and modernization of the Middle School in the same educational campus is also being done. Here, the Prime Minister met some of the students who were going through their lessons, where he even followed a science lesson in the school’s laboratory.
The entire project is being carried out with an investment of around €18 million and upon completion, the Rabat Gozo educational campus will be the first of its kind, as it will include a childcare centre, kindergarten , Primary School, Middle School, Senior School, as well as the Sixth Form in a hub.
Accompanying the Prime Minister Robert Abela during the visit were the Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri and the Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation Clifton Grima.
