GWU offers its support to local workers affected by the Hollywood actors' strike

The Professionals, Finances and Services Section within the General Workers' Union whilst in solidarity is also offering its support to all local workers affected by the Hollywood actors’ strike by contacting the Union.

Hollywood’s actors’ union SAG-AFTRA declared a strike against movie and television studios. Around 160,000 professionals have stopped their work because they are asking for better wages and conditions.

Due to this strike it seems that hundreds of crew members and extras received a letter indicating that the international production “Gladiator 2” has been halted for the time being and they do not know when it will resume.
All these local workers remained without a job, when they were meant to work until September, with the consequence that some are on long leave, including specified workers for building the sets.
