Busy week for Malta’s UEFA match officials

All matches are 1st Leg Second Qualifying Round encounters with FIFA badge referee Ishmael Barbara is off to Ireland to officiate the 90 minutes between local side Saint Patrick’s Athletic and NŠ Mura from Slovenia.

The match on Thursday at Richmond Park in Dublin will see referee Barbara assisted by Roberto Vella and Duncan Spencer as Assistant Referees, whereas Emanuel Grech has also joined as part of this team, assigned with the fourth official role.

A different match from the same competition on Thursday also sees local officials proudly representing the Malta FA.

FIFA Badge Referee Matthew De Gabriele will lead his team of officials in Kazakhstan for the UEFA Europa Conference League Second qualifying round, 1st leg tie between local side FC Tobol Kostanay and Gibraltar team, Lincoln Red Imps FC.

Joining Matthew on Thursday at the Tsentralniy, Kostanay Stadium in Kazakhstan are Jurgen Spiteri and Mitchell Scerri as his Assistant Referees, and Andrea Sciriha tasked in Kazakhstan with the role of fourth official.

And one more assignment for Maltese officials in this busy Thursday night of European football in the UEFA Europa Conference League, with FIFA badge official Philip Farrugia in his leading role of referee to officiate the contest in Belgium between Royal Antwerp FC and FC Drita from Kosovo.

For the game at the Bosuilstadion, Deurne in Belgium, Referee Philip Farrugia is joined by Alan Camilleri and James Muscat as his Assistant Referees, Daniel Portelli will act as the fourth official over these 90 minutes.
