Football returns as Valletta face Floriana

BOV Premier League football returns tonight after an extended winter break and pits Valletta against arch rivals Floriana.

This may be a crucial match for both teams.

Valletta lag 11points behind long time leaders Hibernians and will definitely not want to drop further behind in the title race.

As for Floriana, currently second, a win would see them narrow the gap to just five points. Even a draw would be more acceptable to them than rivals Valletta.

Also tonight defending champions Hamrun, third in the table, take on struggling Mosta.

The MFA have issued an update for supporters going to the Valletta v Floriana game.

Kick off is scheduled at 19:00hrs at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali.

Both sets of supporters have been assigned a sector in West Stand.  The supporters’ allocations see Floriana in West A while Valletta will be in West C.

Whist the Malta FA are doing their utmost to reduce the long queues at the entrances, one must remember that new Covid-19 measures will come into practice on this very day and thus it might take slightly longer to enter the stadium.  Gates will open at 17:45hrs.

Anyone entering the stadium must be in possession of a valid Covid-19 certificate.  For further details on Covid-19 related measures and exemptions, one should visit https://bit.ly/3Id8g9z

The Malta FA wishes to remind drivers to expect delays and think ahead as roadworks are taking place in several of the roads leading to the National Stadium in Ta’ Qali.

Tickets for the Valletta vs Floriana game can be purchased either online from tickets.mfa.com.mt or from the ticket booths on the day.
