Police Officers from 29 European countries in Malta for Road Safety Meeting

Road safety was discussed by representatives of police bodies from 29 European countries who met in Malta for the ROADPOL meeting, organized by the Malta Police Force. This network, led by senior police officers, is committed to reducing deaths and injuries caused by traffic accidents on European roads.

The Minister for the Interior, Security and Work Byron Camilleri said that the enforcement of the laws alone on the roads is not enough as long as there is no greater protection of security and more responsible behavior from everyone. During the conference it emerged that according to Eurostat figures, Malta has the third lowest rate of fatalities in traffic accidents in Europe.
