Minister Evarist Bartolo discusses bilateral relations with Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of United Arab Emirates

During a phone call with the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister Evarist Bartolo discussed the need to strengthen bilateral relations between to the two countries through a number of avenues, not least the political, diplomatic, commercial and the legal bilateral framework, as well as cooperating on regional and international levels.

Touching upon the situation in Libya, Minister Bartolo called for one Libya for all Libyans, and both ministers agreed that a ceasefire, as agreed via UN Security Council Resolution 2510 on the 12th of February of this year, was imperative.

The two ministers also discussed the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on politico-economic and social life, and augured that the two countries will continue to find ways to reap the advantages of innovation that the current challenges have offered on a global level, as well as mitigate together the difficulties that have emerged.

The two ministers pledged to keep in touch and to follow up on all level of matters as required.
