Music Summit Malta 2026: New opportunities for young people developing a career in the music industry

The Ministry for Youth, Welfare and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme is supporting the Music Summit Malta 2026, which is being held between 8 and 9 October at the Hard Rock Hotel in St Julian’s, with concrete initiatives aimed at giving more Maltese youth access to opportunities, networks and experiences in the music industry.

Music Summit Malta is the first summit dedicated to technology and the music industry in the Mediterranean and is bringing together over 45 international and local speakers across four different tracks, including professionals, artists, investors and key figures from the music industry. Speakers include John Acquaviva, Kenny Larkin, Andrea Rosen from Best Nights VC and Lexi Todd from Primary Wave Music.

As part of its support for this initiative, the Ministry is funding 100 free tickets for young people under 30 who are working or developing their careers in the music industry. This initiative is making it possible for more young people to have direct access to a summit that brings together representatives of international labels, A&Rs, investors and founders from the industry.

In addition to access to the summit, Maltese youth are also being given the opportunity to be protagonists through the Rising Talent showcase, where young Maltese DJs and producers are having the opportunity to perform their music in front of international professionals from the industry. Thus, young people are not only being given a seat in this space, but also a platform where their talent can be observed and developed into a professional opportunity.

Minister for Youth, Welfare and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme Omar Farrugia said that investing in young people should lead to concrete opportunities. “The first edition of the Music Summit will give young people an opportunity to discover their talents, we give them the opportunity to roam in their careers and that is our involvement as a Government to continue offering these spaces to our young people to continue roaming , ” said Minister Farrugia.

For his part, the founder of this summit, Aidan Somers, said that this summit is being held to combine local talent with foreign talent . “We are giving opportunities to local people by creating connections with people from abroad and at the same time strengthening the industry that we have in Malta with music.”
