The animal hospital at Ta’ Qali is being upgraded with modern equipment and will soon serve a dual purpose: providing veterinary services while also becoming a practical training facility for MCAST students.
From the next academic year, veterinary students will be able to work with real animals and clinical cases under supervision, gaining hands-on experience in diagnostics, treatments and surgical procedures.
The investment forms part of the Government’s efforts to expand veterinary education in Malta, with growing demand for these services reflected in the increasing number of students applying for the courses.
MCAST’s first cohort of veterinary medicine students is expected to graduate in 2029, with graduates able to obtain a professional warrant recognised in Malta and across the EU.
