An agreement has been signed between the Lands Authority and the Żejtun Local Council so that property belonging to the same Authority will be transferred to the Local Council for use as a warehouse that will serve the needs and daily operations of the council for the next five years.
The property, located in Triq id-Dullieħ, Żejtun, covers an area of approximately 260 square metres and will continue to strengthen the facilities available to the council so that it can offer a more efficient service to residents.
Minister for Housing and Lands Owen Bonnici said that this agreement is another example of how the Government is continuing to support local councils by making public property available to them so that they can improve the services offered to the community. He maintained that when councils are given the necessary resources, they are in a better position to carry out their work effectively and in the best interests of residents.
Żejtun Mayor Joan Agius said that this warehouse will be of great help to the council, as it will provide adequate space for the storage of equipment and materials needed for daily work. She thanked the Lands Authority and the Government for their collaboration and continuous support to the council.
Also present for the signing were Permanent Secretary Ramon Deguara, Chief Executive of the Lands Authority Robert Vella, as well as the Executive Secretary of the Żejtun Local Council Anton Falzon.
