Through an initiative between Sliema Wanderers Youth Academy and Ambjent Malta, 190 trees were planted as part of the second phase of Wied Inċita in Ħ’Attard. The park will be expanded by a further 7,000 square metres.

A number of children representing the Sliema Wanderers Youth Academy, together with their families, took part in educational and environmental activities.

Environment Minister Miriam Dalli attended the event and visited the works together with members of the Ħ’Attard Local Council and officials from Ambjent Malta.

While joining the children in planting the trees, she spoke about the works currently underway at Wied Inċita, including ecological interventions, environmental restoration projects, and the expansion of the park.

“Thanks to the Sliema Wanderers Youth Academy initiative, we are planting more trees as part of the second phase of the Wied Inċita project. We have already opened the first phase of Wied Inċita: 20,000 square metres of environmental space for families. In the second phase, we will see another 7,000 square metres, after which we will continue expanding this park in Ħ’Attard,” said Minister Miriam Dalli.

Several local and indigenous trees will be planted in the park as part of the ongoing works.
