The Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri announced that the works on Triq il-Wied, Rabat and Triq l-Emigranti, Nadur have been completed, so that now 12 roads, out of the 100 new residential roads promised for Gozo in the next three years, are ready.
Minister Camilleri said, “We are building these roads as promised so that the infrastructure on this island continues to be strengthened. The completion of these roads continues to fulfil the Government’s promise to strengthen the infrastructure in Gozo, while improving the quality of life of residents. We are ensuring that the roads are completed with modern and sustainable infrastructure, with the commitment remaining to complete the promised 100 residential roads within three years.”
In Triq il-Wied, Rabat, water mains installations, drainage repairs, and new service connections to homes were carried out by WSC, following which the road was given tarmac. In the meantime, the Ministry for Gozo and Planning replaced a fallen stormwater line, adjusted the new road levels and completed the remaining asphalt works.
In Emigrant Street, Nadur, the Water Services Corporation carried out extensive works including new house connections, a new gravity sewer, as well as a new pumping station with modern infrastructure which replaced the old system. The Ministry for Gozo and Planning completed the construction of rubble walls and carried out road levelling works and concrete channels so that an area of approximately 1,000 square metres was finally tarmacked.
