Public Awareness Notice: Scam Calls Impersonating Revolut
We would like to alert the general public about fraudulent phone calls currently being carried out by scammers who are spoofing local phone numbers and pretending to represent the online bank Revolut.
What’s happening?
Scammers are using technology to make it appear as though they are calling from a legitimate Maltese phone number. The scammers are claiming that suspicious activity has been detected on your account and pressure you to act quickly to secure your account.
Please remember:
1. Revolut will not call their clients but will inform their clients through the Revolut App.
2. Revolut will NEVER ask for your full PIN, password, or one-time verification codes over the phone.
3. Do not share personal or financial information with unexpected callers.
4. If you feel pressured to act urgently, hang up immediately.
5. Never transfer money or approve transactions, without verifying the recipient of the funds.
What you should do:
1. Hang up and contact Revolut directly through the official app or website.
2. Report the call within the app if possible.
3. Block the number and warn family and friends.
