Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri announced the completion of Triq Tumas Cassar in Għarb, the third of the 100 residential roads in Gozo that the Government promised to renovate in three years.
Minister Clint Camilleri stated that, “We will continue to work hand in hand with our Councils, the Water Services Corporation and Enemalta to strengthen the infrastructure of both services and to provide better roads and better residential surfaces around the island of Gozo. This is the third of a hundred. We will continue to work so that in the next three years we will be implementing them all.”
In this residential road in Għarb, no less than 2,400 square meters of tarmac was provided, services were changed including two new water mains that will be supplying the residences and even the surrounding houses, the new New Water service was introduced in this area as well, the electricity mains were changed and a new cable was laid so that it could also supply the electricity that is being generated by the photovoltaic panels in this area, panels that are made by the Għarb Local Council.
For his part, the Mayor of Għarb David Apap thanked the Ministry for investing in Gozitan infrastructure so that all localities have the necessary infrastructure for today’s needs.
Minister Clint Camilleri concluded by saying that he is committed to ensuring that this ambitious plan for new roads around the island of Gozo is carried out for the benefit of residents and anyone who chooses to visit Gozo, while thanking the Ombudsman for the interest he has shown and the cooperation he has shown in ensuring that this road is completed expeditiously.
