Malta Police arrested a man allegedly part of a European criminal group wanted by Austrian authorities in connection with a series of explosive attacks on bank ATMs in Austria.
Earlier this week, an internationally coordinated operation was carried out in several European countries, including Malta. During this operation, the Malta Police arrested the man from a residence in St Paul’s Bay.
On Tuesday the man was taken to court to begin the extradition process. He agreed to face criminal proceedings in Austria and remains under arrest.
