More than 10,000 people attend events held in various gardens and parks during the midterm holidays

Mid-term activities

During the mid-term holidays, 14 activities were held in a number of open spaces organised by the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness and its entities.

These activities, which took place between Friday 31st October and Tuesday 4th November, created a series of events that provided families with a range of activities to enjoy while their children were on midterm break. More than 10,000 people attended, with children participating in the different activities organised.

With the theme ‘Merħba – aktar spazji miftuħa għalik’, the activities took place at Salini Park, Buskett, the EcoHive Academy, Ġnien l-Iskultura, Ġnien ta’ Fuq il-Glażiż, Minden Grove, Ta’ Qali Petting Farm, Kalkara Square, Spencer Garden, Chadwick Lakes and Wied Inċita.

“As a Ministry, we wanted to create a variety of activities for these days, and it is very satisfying to see that all of them were a great success. Our plan is to continue developing more initiatives like these to bring even more families and children to parks and open spaces,” said Miriam Dalli, Minister for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness.

The activities were organised by Project Green, Ambjent Malta, WasteServ, GHRC, the Energy and Water Agency (EWA), and the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA). The aim was not only to offer recreational opportunities, but also to provide children with the chance to learn new things about the environment, waste, food, sports and even different professions, while bringing people closer to open spaces.
