The national fundraising activity in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund, ‘Il-Mixja tal-President’, will take place on Sunday, 30th November 2025.
The walk will start from two different locations — San Anton Palace, Attard, and Paola’s Square— both departing at 9:15 a.m. Participants will then meet at Blata l-Bajda and walk together towards the Grand Master’s Palace in Valletta.
These details were announced during a press conference held at the Kirkop Sports Complex, addressed by H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, accompanied by Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima, Opposition Spokesperson for Sport, Justin Schembri, Mr Mark Cutajar, Chief Executive of SportMalta, Mr Kevin Chircop, Executive Chairman of main sponsor Enemed, and Mr Melvin Bugeja from the National Band Clubs Association.
President of Malta began by thanking all those involved in the organisation of this event, which continues to enjoy wide public support. In the presence of several schoolchildren attending the conference, she highlighted the importance of young generations being physically active for their health and encouraged them to use their love of sport as a way to help those in need.
Minister Clifton Grima described this event as a celebration of collaboration, volunteerism, unity, solidarity, and generosity — values that truly reflect the Maltese people.
Opposition Spokesperson Justin Schembri reiterated that events like this one send out a positive message of support for those who require assistance.
This year’s edition will feature the participation of several band clubs, who will accompany participants from outside Parliament to St. George’s Square. Mr Melvin Bugeja noted that events such as this one bring people together and showcase the Maltese and Gozitan spirit of solidarity.
Kevin Chircop spoke about the importance of private companies coming together for a common cause — to help the vulnerable. He remarked that the Presidency doesn’t just organise one walk but walks alongside all those in need who benefit from the Malta Community Chest Fund’s support.
Explaining the event’s logistics, Mark Cutajar invited participants to make a €10 donation in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund and collect the official event t-shirt from one of the Malta Community Chest Fund offices (at San Anton Palace, Valletta, or Gozo), from Eurosport, or any SportMalta facility. He also noted that this year’s President’s Walk brings together both sport and culture.
