Work Trial Scheme for Youths launched for summer 2025

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri at launch of Work Scheme for Gozo youths

The Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri has launched the Work Trial Scheme for Youths, with the aim of providing Gozitan students and youth with the opportunity to gain direct experience in the world of work during the summer months.

This scheme is specifically aimed at Gozitan students and youth between the ages of 16 and 20, and allows them to undertake work experience with private entities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). This will not only help them develop practical skills, but will also help them make more informed choices about their future careers.

Minister Clint Camilleri stated, “We strongly believe in Gozitan youth and in all that they are capable of. With this scheme we want to offer the first work experience in a safe environment, where young people can discover their potential, learn and strengthen their skills. It is through initiatives such as this that we continue to strengthen the foundations of a better future for the next generation. Therefore, I encourage all young people to take advantage of this opportunity.”

This scheme began seven years ago, and over the years it has continued to improve after the Ministry listened to the suggestions of the young people who participated and the entities that hosted them. Minister Clint Camilleri concluded by saying that he will remain committed to continuously improving this initiative so that it remains relevant and beneficial to young people. Those participating in the scheme will be given €115 per week, for a maximum of five weeks, with a total of up to a maximum of €575. The scheme starts on Monday, 4 August and ends on Friday, 5 September 2025.

Applications can be submitted online between Monday, 30 June, and Friday, 4 July by noon. The application can be obtained from the Ministry’s official website: www.gozo.gov.mt
