Minister for Housing and Lands Owen Bonnici visited the ongoing works on a new social housing project in Qrendi, through which 28 new apartments and 14 parking spaces will be built, so that more families will have the opportunity to live in a home that offers them security and stability.

During the visit, Minister Bonnici followed the progress of the works, which are part of the ongoing work to strengthen social housing in our country and provide concrete support to those who need it most.

“Social housing is about people and their families. It is about giving more people the chance to have a place of their own where they can live with dignity, peace of mind and greater certainty for tomorrow. Through this project in Qrendi, we are continuing to invest in housing that responds to people’s needs and that can make a real difference in their lives,” said Minister Owen Bonnici.

The project represents an investment of approximately €7.6 million and will include one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments, to cater to the needs of different families.

Present for the visit were Permanent Secretary Ramon Deguara, Malita Chief Executive Marlene Attard, Housing Authority Chief Executive Matthew Zerafa, as well as Qrendi Mayor David Schembri along with members of the Qrendi Local Council.
