A woman was found dead in the bedroom of a house in Zabbar on Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to the house in Triq Corrado, Żabbar, after neighbors reported hearing shots fired.
They found the victim who has been identified as Charlotte Zammit dead in the bedroom. She is the mother of Liam Debono, who is accused of the attempted murder of police constable Simon Schembri.
42-year-old Roderick Azzopardi, who was inside the house when police arrived, was arrested. He had previously twice been arrested on domestic violence against the victim in 2016 and 2017.
