Weeks of investigations in connection with an organised crime related to the importation from abroad of protected species led to the arrest of two persons.
During searches inside a residence in Zurrieq, more than 100 carcasses of several protected species were found ready to be mounted, including the carcass of an African Genet, while another 40 carcasses were seized inside a Gudja residence.
Around 2,500 mounted species and 7 shotguns were also confiscated from the mentioned residence for further investigations.
