For the first time since the launch of the ‘Gift with Love’ initiative back in 2020, this year’s edition will be held in collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise and the Parliamentary Secretariat for Local Government.

From the nursery of Ambjent Malta, 68 cypress trees were distributed to each Local Council as a symbol of this initiative, with the intention that even this year’s edition will be a success.

Dr. Lydia Abela said that with the aim that more people can participate in this initiative with a philanthropic goal, the collaboration is being done with the aim that the residents in every town and village have the opportunity to put a gift under the tree in their respective locality, if they are not able to go with the gift in Castile Square. “The participation of all residents clearly shows the generosity and solidarity of the Maltese and Gozitan people”, stated the wife of the Prime Minister while encouraging everyone to participate in his or her respective locality.

Minister Miriam Dalli said that through this initiative, we will continue to reach more children. “We wanted to make this edition of ‘Rigal bi Mhàbba’ easier for those who, for one reason or another, are unable to enter Valletta. At the end of this edition, trees will be planted in the respective localities in memory of this initiative”, said Minister Dalli.

Parliamentary Secretary Alison Zerafa Civelli noted that all Local Councils are participating in the Gift with Love initiative and praised their work. She encouraged the residents to give their contribution in order to ensure that this year all the children have a gift with love.
