A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a spate of robberies in Sliema and Valletta.
Police acted swiftly to track down and arrest the suspect just hours after a shop in Sliema was robbed. At around 9pm on Wednesday night, a man armed with a knife entered the shop in Sir Adrian Dingli Street and demanded cash.
From their investigations, police discovered that the suspect had also robbed a shop in Valletta in the early hours of the morning and also stole cash from a hostel in St George Borg Street in Sliema. Shortly after that he stole a wallet and mobile phone from a car in Tower Road.
The suspect was arrested in Valletta and is expected to appear in court in the coming days.
