A body was found in the sea in the area below the Park ta’ Xrobb l’Đagin in Delimara, limits of Marsaxlokk.
Police said they received a report at 10.45 on Wednesday morning that a body had been spotted in the sea.
Police immediately requested the assistance of the Armed Forces of Malta which sent a helicopter to recover the body.
It is believed the body is female who was wearing sports clothing but as yet unidentified.
Police investigations are continuing.
